Since 2017 ISCHE devotes some of the membership revenue to an ISCHE Travel Fund for the annual conference.

These funds are for ISCHE members* who are doctoral students and early career researchers (up to 5 years post-PhD) without full-time faculty appointments and who are based in low-GDP countries**.

Applicants must have their conference paper accepted and submit the following documents to information@ische.org with the subject line “ECR travel fund request”:

• Completed Travel Fund request form in one of ISCHE languages (English, French, German, Portuguese or Spanish) [available here]
• Evidence of advanced student or early-career status (student card, dissertation certificate)
• Brief CV (maximum 2 pages) written in one of languages above mentioned.

Incomplete applications will not be considered and previous recipients of the travel fund are not eligible.

The Travel Fund Committee*** receives the applications and ranks them according to the information submitted. The chair will then decide on the applicants who’ll be granted the travel fund with the approval of the committee.

A waiting list and a deadline for acceptance of the award will be set. Awards not accepted before the deadline will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list

Please note that the travel fund is given after proof of attendance at the conference. For this reason, in order to receive the travel fund, the recipients will be handed out a form at ISCHE which must be filled in, signed and given to the ECR representative (Inês Félix) during the conference.

**Please note that the crucial factor for the reduced Low GDP fee is not the country of origin but the country of the institutional affiliation. As grounds for determining the GDP status of a country, ISCHE used the current World bank data, GDP per capita. The threshold for low-GDP country status is an annual per capita GDP which is lower than 71% of the GDP of the total EU.
